We’re Those People that tend to say we’re going to hang pictures and then three years later move out of the house with bare walls. Or swear we will paint over the turquoise tie-die wall in the Master Bedroom and catch ourselves having to explain it to the people purchasing the house from us. “No, we didn’t paint that, no no. Oh, yes, right, we’ve lived here three years. Yes, ... yes it’s ugly. .. You kind of just get used to it.”
So don’t be shocked when nothing matched in our house.
It’s hard to justify buying all the necessities of a “grown up” house all at once. Having never had a formal wedding, it wasn’t something we got together 7 years ago to discuss the china or dust-ruffles (which, apparently, are no longer “in” among bedding. Who knew?)
This opportunity was one I could not pass up. The chance to feel like I had my Potter Barn experience at about 40% less the cost. At least.
We couldn’t believe how much you can purchase with a $500 gift card. Did you know you can redo two bathrooms AND your bedroom? Basically transforming your old, spitup, sleepless, mismatched bedroom in to a love Grado? I don’t know if that’s how you spell it or if that’s the right word but dammit, I’m sticking to it because Love Grotto.
Linden Street gave me a Love Grotto.
I’m sure they don’t really want that to get out.
What they do want to get out, though, is the quality, colors, and perfect combination of both that gave my bathroom the pulled-together look it now has. How every accent, every rug, every towel, every sheet, every candle matches something I already owned or had installed. How the colors are so fabulous, I could lick my chocolate towels and swear it’s semi-sweet.
At least this post is.
Really, over all, it was the most fun us girls have had sine, oh, I dunno… July 2008? Somewhere in San Fran? We got together for a few short hours and shopped until the store closed. Then we spend an entire day together transforming my house in to a sellable townhouse. It’s a grown up house now. A house I can show off. A house my own Mother couldn’t complain about anymore.
Well, we’ll find out in a few weeks on that last one.

We joined a heard of other people in Bellevue for the Kid’s Quest free Friday night. Find out what we though about it and read other online reviews.
Since many of us consider our favorite grocery store our second home- why not make those weekly (or bi-weekly) trips there more bearable. The MamasPod ladies love Fred Meyer for many reasons. The #1 reason being their FREE one hour of childcare in the Playplace while you shop! Genius! Listen in to find out how to maximize your time and get new ideas of what you can do (alone) in Freddies. It is a grocery store and SO much more!
For our lucky thirteen podcast, we hit on a topic we all started discussing on the spur of the moment. It was such an immediate topic we even caught one of our kids in The Act. Archived. Here. So join us in the “Why Preschoolers Lie” podcast from your favorite Seattle Mom Podcasters. (We consider ourselves your favorite since we think we’re the only ones. If we’re not, then certainly we’re in the top four? five? Twenty? Comeon throw us a bone here...)
We're all busy. It's hard to sit and read reviews. It's hard to sit at the computer, period, with tiny people needing things. So we've put together some podcasts for you to take with you or turn on while you cook dinner. We'll review places to go, things to do and parenting topics in short 10-20 minute clips. Think of us as your girlfriends you call when you want to know if that place around the corner really is as good as everyone says it is. We'll even tell you if there's a good toilet. We're classy that way.
